Applicant & Candidate Privacy Policy

This policy describes the ways that we (Baron App, Inc., doing business as Cameo) collect, use, share, and update personal information from people being considered for employment with Cameo, or who submit personal information to us to receive information about employment opportunities or events.

Your general use of Cameo’s website, app, and other services is governed by Cameo’s main Terms and Privacy Policy, along with any other applicable terms.

Information We Collect

Beyond technical information we collect automatically when you visit any portion of our website, such as IP address and cookie identifiers, we don’t require personal information to view job openings at our careers website. If you choose to apply for a job with us, you will need to provide us with some personal information, including:

  • Your full name and contact information such as a home address, email, and phone number;
  • Application materials such as a resume, CV, LinkedIn profile, employment history, experience, education, skills, knowledge, licenses, and supporting materials such as documentation or a cover letter;
  • Information about how you heard about us or the role for which you are applying, as well as information about your interest in the role and Cameo;
  • Work authorization and visa sponsorship information;
  • Job openings of interest to you; and
  • Other information you choose to provide to us, such as voluntary self-identification of race, ethnicity, gender, disability status, and veteran status, your willingness to relocate, current or desired salary, accommodations needed, and communication preferences.

At later stages of our interview process, you may be asked to provide additional details on the topics above, and to provide responses to questions or complete tasks designed to assess your fitness and qualifications for a role.

As allowed by applicable law, we may ask you for additional information or obtain information about you from other sources. For example, we may receive information about you from professional networks, employment agencies, vendors, other prospective candidates, or from LinkedIn or other publicly available websites; ask references to validate or provide additional information about you, such as about your experience, education, or work style; ask for information needed to verify your identity, such as government or tax identification numbers, previous names, or place and date of birth; request educational records from institutions you have attended; review your credentials or licensing status; or request criminal or credit records following a conditional offer of employment.

We generally do not ask for sensitive information, but you may choose to provide it voluntarily. Your decision to provide or withhold any such information will not negatively impact your candidacy. We treat any personal information that is considered sensitive under applicable law in accordance with such law.

How We Use Your Information

We may use your information to let you to express interest in employment with us; to evaluate your candidacy for employment, including compared to other candidates; to update employment-related information we may have previously collected about you; to communicate with you about your application and other employment-related matters; for internal analysis and reporting on our application, recruiting, and hiring practices and to improve them; to analyze, ensure, and enhance the security and functionality of our recruitment sites and systems; to protect against fraud; to conduct internal investigations; and to comply with legal obligations.

If your application for employment is successful, we may transfer some of your personal information to your Cameo employee file.

How We Share and Disclose Your Information

  1. Our Affiliates
    We may share information with our affiliates for the same purposes for which we use it.
  2. Third Parties Providing Services on our Behalf
    We use third parties to perform certain services on our behalf, such as hosting our careers website, providing website usage analytics, sending email or other communications, providing data analysis or enhancement, or performing other administrative services. We may share information about you with these third parties to allow them to execute, deliver, or improve the services that they provide for you and for Cameo.
  3. When You Request That We Share Your Information
    We may share information when you request us to do so, for example, if you ask us to pursue an immigration visa or work permit on your behalf.
  4. Administrative Reasons; To Enforce and Protect Legal Rights
    To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may disclose your personal information pursuant to a law, regulation, court order, or other legal request or process, such as disclosure to law enforcement or other government officials or agencies in connection with any investigation or to fulfill reporting requirements. This disclosure may include legal requests from a jurisdiction outside of the United States when we have a good faith belief that the response is required by law, regulation, court order, or other legal request or process in that jurisdiction, affects users in that jurisdiction, and is consistent with internationally recognized standards.

    We may disclose your personal information when necessary to exercise, enforce, establish, or defend our legal rights, including to our legal and other advisors, consultants, and law enforcement or other government entities.
  5. Business Transfers
    In evaluating or engaging in a sale of assets, merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or other transaction, we reserve the right to disclose, transfer, or assign your personal information and communications. By providing your personal information, you agree that we may transfer such information to the acquiring entity without your further consent.

Please note that we may require information to confirm your identity before acting on your request, and that some information may be retained where the law allows or requires it.

Changes to This Policy

We may revise this policy from time to time, as indicated in the “last updated” section at the top of this policy. Unless otherwise specified, changes will be effective from the date that they are posted here.
